Will LightScribe Work on Windows 10?
Initial results are good… 🙂
My LightScribe and Windows 10 System
I updated my ASUS laptop running Windows 8.1 Standard with LightScribe System Software and My LightScribe Toolbox software installed.
Windows 10 and LightScribe Results
After updating my laptop today (31 August 2015) I can confirm the following:
1: LightScribe System Software recognized
2: LG GSA E60L LightScribe DVD drive recognized in the LightScribe Control Panel.
3: The Labeling Software from my LightScribe Toolbox 2015 recognized.
4: I successfully burned my first Label using Windows 10 and LightScribe Today 🙂
Simple and Template Labelers
Update 1st August 2015
LightScribe Simple Labeler
The simple Labeler installed on my new Windows 10 Home system although it did initaly say it had not.
The system displayed the “Operating System Inadequate’ message. However after rebooting the laptop the Simple Labeler was indeed installed and worked perfectly.
The LightScribe Template Labeler
Unfortunately no luck here at all…
I have tried:
Compatibility settings, XP Vista and 7 but none worked.
The two methods I used to fix this issue in Windows 8.1 work fine for Windows 10 as well. 🙂
So to see them in action go to my LightScribe Video Training website:
I have not updated the information to refulect that the methods work on 10 as well as 8.1 but I will later today.
Conclusion – So Far…
The good news:
Windows 10 has not broken LightScribe any more than Windows 8.1 did… 🙂
The not so good news:
It has not fixed anything either… 🙁
Over the days, weeks and months ahead we may find ways to overcome the problems we have and as these become known I will add to this post.
It is very early days and no doubt Microsoft will issues ‘updates’ and these may/may not help…
Until then, have fun with LightScribe…
All my best.

P.S. If you are running Windows 7 then try the Free Windows Software you may still want the greater flexibility of the LightScribe Toolbox, but give the free stuff a go first.
